The festival is a citywide event that takes place in all of the Dublin City Centre Cinemas including Cineworld, The Savoy, Screen, Irish Film Institute and Light House Cinema in Smithfield. The majority of films shown at the film festival are Irish premieres, and for some of the films shown, the festival represents the only public screening that will take place in Ireland.

Since its inauguration the festival has prided itself on creating a unique forum of exchange between the public and the filmmaking community through hosting a whole range of events that allow the public to interact with filmmakers in the form of public interviews, panel discussions and Q&A sessions. Over the years an array of film talent has joined in with the celebration including Daniel Day Lewis, Gabriel Byrne, Jim Sheridan, Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Charlize Theron, Collin Firth and Liam Neeson, among others, all of whom have graced the JDIFF red carpet. Audiences and industry members have been delighted to meet a widely diverse range of luminaries and gain insights in to every area of the film world including perspectives from directors, producers, screenwriters and critics such as Mike Leigh, John Sayles, Quentin Tarantino, Martin Mc Donagh, Jeremy Thomas, Wim Wenders, Neil Gaiman, Jan Troell, Sarah Polley, Frederic Raphael and Todd McCarthy among many others.

At least we can get around to see the Delights of Dublin at Christmas this year. From the lights and shop displays on Grafton and Henry Street to the buzz in all the pubs around town. Christmas on ice at Kilmainham and White Christmas the musical at the Grand Canal theatre what other reasons would you need for a trip to the Capital.

It great to have the apartments so close to the stadium and we can feel the atmosphere as the fans walked down to the match. Can you believe it is only 5 weeks to christmas from Sunday! Help! The lights have been switched on in the city centre so there has never been a better time to come and visit Dublin.

The RDS is having there Toy show on the 18th -20th November. Main Hall, RDS is over 3000 Sqm. The show will bring you over 1000 Sqm of Toys, Toy demo areas, a live stage and the ISPCC winter trail which features reindeer stables, workshops, mail room, the elf village and not forgetting Santa’s House.
Thousands of toys from over 90 shops.

Children’s entertainment on stage though out the day, over 3 days.
Face painting, Magicians, Stilt walkers and lots more fun. Well worth a visit. The Convention Centre (CCD) will have Taste of Christmas on 25th – 27th Nov. Lots of lovely food and drink to get you in the mood for christmas.

With the nights drawing in it is that time of the year when we need a break to cheer us up. With some many nice things on at the Grand Canal Theater from Mama Mia to Richard Clayderman and our apartments are just 5mins walk from the theatre and 5mins by taxi to the city centre it is an ideal time for you to come and stay with us.
